◆Workshop:"Kumiko Zaiku" Coaster Making "Kumiko Zaiku" is a traditional woodworking technique that involves assembling small pieces of wood by hand to create intricate patterns. At this workshop, you'll get to experience making a coaster with the "Asanoha" (hemp leaf) pattern. Please come empty-handed and take your handmade coaster home with you. |
◆Workshop:”Kumihimo” Misanga-Style Bracelet Making ![]() Kumihimo (braided cords) have evolved uniquely in Japan and have been cherished for various uses, such as on samurai armor and obi sashes. Why not experience the charm of this craft, which combines supple strength with intricate beauty? In this workshop, you will learn the technique of yubi-kumihimo (finger braiding), which is the root of this craft, and create a misanga-style bracelet using silk threads. YPlease come empty-handed and take your finished bracelet home with you. |
◆Workshop:Edo-style Hand-Painted Lantern Making Learn the art of authentic Edo-moji calligraphy from a skilled artisan and inscribe your favorite words or name on a small lantern. The lantern is 12 cm in diameter and 26.5 cm tall. You can display your finished lantern in your room or give it as a personalized gift. |
◆Workshop: Tenkoku (Japanese Seal Engraving) Seal carving, known as "Tenkoku" in Japanese, is a traditional craft that involves engraving characters and images onto materials like stone or wood to create a personal seal. While it's often seen as an important but difficult part of the calligraphy world, this workshop makes it easy and enjoyable to experience. You can carve your own name, a favorite phrase, or even a picture onto a stone to create your own unique seal. |

◆Event Cancellation Policy
The event may be canceled under the following circumstances:
1. In the event that severe weather or a suspension of public transportation services near the venue is confirmed at 5:00 AM on the event day, Saturday, October 11.
2. In the event of an official stay-at-home order or other public health directive related to the novel coronavirus.
In the case of a cancellation for the reasons stated above, refund and other arrangements will be determined on a case-by-case basis and announced at a later date. Please note that no cancellations or refunds will be provided if the event proceeds, even in the case of a temporary interruption.
